The French Government has announced that it will open up its borders to online gambling companies next year. France and other Euro states currently with state monopolies are now bending to the pressure of Brussels to end their restrictions due to anti-competitivity laws.
Plans for an online gambling bill will be submitted to the cabinet at the end of the month, Éric Woerth, budget minister, said it was "no use denying the reality of online gambling and the expectations of French people". Tax levels are predicted to be 2% for poker operators and 7.5% for sports betting.
